Letter writer’s

words disturbing

I read a letter ("Peace activists don’t want senseless war") in last week’s paper that disturbed me. I do not believe that there are any Americans who want war. I also believe that most Americans, when faced with the threat of war, will be there for their country with support for our military.

The letter I read was written by the man who organized the peace rallies. I wonder if the men and women who were standing with him, protesting the war for the sake of peace, knew that he "rejects appeals to patriotism and support for our troops…"?

Seems to me, during these times of uncertain future, we should be patriotic, and always support our troops. They are our people.

Unnecessary war. Who is to say that this war is unnecessary?

Comments such as those are not American. I would ask, if those are your feelings, why stay in America? Perhaps you would fare better in Afghanistan, or Iraq...
